Jennifer Mazziotta-Walter Bio
Jennifer has been an art educator for four years with her last three teaching at Harmony Township School in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. She teaches kindergarten through eighth grade and could not imagine herself happier at any other school. Teaching nine grades challenges Jennifer at times but also allows her to appreciate individual student growth during their time at Harmony. She is the advisor for Teen Arts, an accelerated program for 7th and 8th grade students who are gifted and talented in art. Jennifer also volunteers as Harmony’s Ski Club advisor and the Student Council co-advisor. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography at Arcadia University in 2002 and her teaching certificate at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2010. In December of 2013, she completed her Masters of Education in Art Education at Kutztown University. Jennifer is very passionate about photography and is fortunate to have a supportive school community that has allowed her to create a K-8 photography curriculum to be integrated into Harmony’s current art curriculum. She is interested in how her students’ quality of learning improves while making connections between subjects, and tries to partner with other teachers when she can. Jennifer feels that her students appreciated The Dinner Party Curriculum much more because they spent two months immersed in it within their art, language arts, and technology classes.
