Carrie Jeruzal is a K-12 Visual Art Educator with 15 years total experience, in the Pentwater Public School District, in Pentwater, Michigan. Carrie is an Educator Mentor in her district and has presented at numerous regional, state and national art education conferences. In addition, she serves as a Michigan Arts Education Instruction and Assessment Project Item Writer and Exemplar Scorer. She is a 2016 Fellowship Recipient for the National Gallery of Art Teacher Institute, the recipient of the 2014 Minx M. Auerbach Award for Excellence in Teaching, a 2011 Fellowship Recipient for the Korea Academy for Educators, a 2010 Fellowship Recipient for the China Study Tour Indiana University through the National Consortium for Teaching About East Asia, and the 2004 Fellowship Recipient through the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund. She is a graduate of Hope College, where she majored in Art and French, and Western Michigan University, where she earned her M.A. in Art Education. About her connection with art, Carrie states, “I’ve been an artist all my life, my first medium was a crayon and my current media are my students! Inspired by my world travels, developing exciting K-12 Visual Arts Curriculum and teaching are truly my vocation and my passion.”
